The USB-C to MagSafe 3 Cable is an adapter cable released by Apple on October 26, 2021 to allow devices with MagSafe 3 ports to be charged from a supported USB-C power source.
MagSafe 3 was introduced in a special event on October 18, 2021 after being absent from MacBook Pro models released in 2016 to 2020. The cable is braided for durability and supports fast charging on the 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pros with an Apple M1 Pro or M1 Max chip, if connected to a 67W, 96W, and 140W USB-C Power Adapter. The MacBook Air with Apple M2 chip will need a 35W Dual USB-C Port Power Adapter. The MacSafe 3 connector is thinner and wider than MagSafe 2 and is not believed to be backwards compatible.
